Question

What steps do I follow to get the ML-L3 to work on my D-60?

I cannot get this wireless remote to work. It came with absolutely no
instructions. But I researched a book on the Nikon D-60 camera by David D.
Busch. I read up on how to use the wireless remote. I went to the Quick Settings
Display. Clicked on the Release Mode. Then activated the Quick Release Remote.
But the remote still does not work.

I then replaced the battery that came with it, but it still does not work.

The ML-L3 works with an infrared beam, the sensor on the camera is on the front just below the shutter release. The remote must be pointing at the sensor.

It is not necessary to pair or sync the D40 and the ML-L3, but you will need to change your D40's shooting mode to either Quick-response remote or 2s-Delayed remote. Instructions for setting the Shooting Mode can be found on page 32 of the D40 Manual. A copy of the D40 Manual can be downloaded from here: https://support.nikonusa.com/app/an....

Question

Is there a remote for the Nikon 1 J4?

I recently bought the ML-L3 remote off Amazon and it said that the remote was compatible with basically every nikon DSLR camera, even the Nikon 1 J4. However, when I received the remote I could not get it to connect to the camera, and after some further research I actually found out that it wasn't compatible with my camera. So the question is, is there a remote that is compatible for the Nikon 1 J4?

Question

Will the remote trigger more than 1 camera?

I'm taking a trip to Iceland in February and hoping to catch a glimpse of the aurora. All being well (and if the aurora shows up) I'm going to a spot with several other photographers.

If there's another Nikon photographer near me with their camera set to remote mode, will my ML-L3 trigger their camera also?

I can imagine this would make me rather unpopular!
Thanks.

Using the ML-L3 will fire other cameras off if it is in near proximity and they have theirs set to remote, though not all bodies can be controlled with it so it may not have any effect on their camera.

Question

Is there something I'm overlooking to operate remote ML-L3?

I can't get it to work. Battery is in correct. Trying to use it with a Coolpix P7700. On the P7700, I adjust the self timer mode to 'quick response remote' and press 'OK'. That should be it. Right? My exposure mode is 'Programmed auto' and my focus mode is 'Center normal'. Please help, thank you.

Use the Remote Control ML-L3 (available separately) (E102) to release the shutter. It is convenient for taking group shots including yourself and effectively eliminates blur caused by camera shake that occurs when the shutter-release button is pressed. Press the self-timer on the rotary multi selector. Select remote control mode using the multi selector to display the setting. Select the remote control setting and press the button. Question

Does the ML-L3 work with nikon1 J4?

It comes up as a compatible accessory, but I can not find anything in the Nikon 1 J4 menus for changing the release mode. I have the correct battery, it is in the right way, the plastic tab is pulled out already. There does not seem to be any type of beam coming from the remote though. Could I have received a defective item? I also can not find a manual on this site for this product.

When the ML-L3 remote control is used in M mode, users can selected '- -' as the shutter speed. At this setting, the shutter opens when the shutter-release button on the optional ML-L3 remote control is pressed (2 seconds after the button is pressed in delayed remote mode) and remains open until the remote-control shutter-release button is pressed a second time (maximum exposure time is 30 minutes).
