Question

Increasing 720p video length?

I really like the 720p quality for what I film. Only problem is its 8 minutes compared to 28 minutes on low quality. With a 32gb SDHC card I know I can film and refilm for many hours. I just want to know, is it possible to increase the HD time longer than 8 minutes and 11 seconds to about 30 minutes like the lowest setting?

Question

When I first turned it on it said "Lens Error"

It did this the first time I turned it on, so I turned it off and back on. Then it worked. Should I be worried at all?

Also when I turn it on it makes a sound...a very flimsy sound and I can hear the lens cover moving. Is this normal and should I forget about it?

To take continuous or burst shots with the S3300 you can either use the Sports scene mode or use the Continuous shooting mode. The Pet Portrait mode also has a continuous option but this mode is geared specifically toward taking pictures of dogs or cats.

The Sports scene mode is selected by pressing the Scene button on the back of the camera, scrolling to the second option on the left, then selecting the Sports icon which looks like a running man. See page 41 of the S3300 manual for detailed information on the Sports scene mode.

The Continuous mode is available in the Shooting Menu when you are in the Auto mode shooting mode. In Continuous, while the shutter release button is held down, up to 6 images are captured at a rate of about 1.3 frames per second when the image mode is set to 16MP. Detailed information on the Continuous option starts on page 26 of the reference section of the S3300 manual.

Information on movie recording times and memory card capacity can be found on page 80 of the S3300 manual. If do not have a memory card in your S3300 then you will only be able to record about 20 seconds of VGA movies before running out of memory. If you are using a memory card and are still limited to less than a minute then make sure that the memory card you are using is on the approved memory card list and has a speed rating of class 6 or higher. The list of approved memory cards can be found on page 19 of the S3300 manual or online at this address:
http://support.nikonusa.com/app/ans... .
