You will need to send your camera for service in order to be evaluated by one of our techs. The warranty is to be free from defects in material and workmanship for one (1) year from the date of purchase. Just need the copy of the receipt of purchased.

Most of the time the shooting delay is caused by focusing. Press the button half way down (and hold it in) and let the camera pre-focus; when the subject is perfect press the button the rest of the way to shoot. With a bit of practice it is easy to get the perfect photo.

Question

Slow recovery time after taking a picture? Why?

I use the auto focus method (press down half way, focus, take the picture) and it takes a lot of time for the picture to save and re-set to take another picture. Why is this? Could it be the memory card? I have a 2G HP card. Is it a setting i have set? I have re-set the camera to the default settings. Nothing seems to speed up the recovery time.

Look at the class rating of the SD card the higher the class the faster the write speed. Suggest you get a class 10 SDHC card, 8gb or greater if you are going to use the movie mode.
