this lens can be manual focused. u need a lens that is an afs . this means a built in focus motor in the lens. u can go online with tamron and see if they have one. nikon has the 28 to 70 that will work. or the new 50 afs.
I'm fairly new with Nikon cameras, and I'm going to California in a couple weeks so I wanted to buy a lens that is nice for landscape shots.

It will fit but you will have to focus manually. Your D3200 does not have a focus motor and neither does this lens. You need lenses with the designation AF-S, the S means the lens has a silent wave focus motor.
Nikon offers two types of autofocus digital camera bodies: those with a built-in focus drive motor and those which require a lens to have a motor. Cameras such as the D5000 do not have a focus motor in it so they require the lens to have the focusing motor – an “AF-S” lens. While these bodies can use a lens with no focus motor (an “AF” lens) you would have to manually turn the focus ring to bring the subject in to sharp focus.
Is this lens aperture priority only, or can it be used with automatic aperture, in Program mode? Also, does the lens have automatic aperture stop-down, or do you have to manually stop down before each exposure? Thanks.
