This lens is NOT a VR lens. I took several hundred photos with this lens the day I received it and only 3 of them were blurry at maximum zoom without a tripod. It was a semi-cloudy day and I was using various modes. I Love this lens and I give it 5 stars, especially at the refurbished price. One note, and just my opinion, I would never use this lens in low light situations or slow shutter speeds without a tripod or setting it on a solid surface in timer mode. 5 Stars!

Hi if your lens in not a VR you could just use the way we took pictures before VR just set the shutter speed at or higher than the lens length ( example 200 MM == 200 th of a second or higher this does work to help with shake but not in low light when you need a slow shutter .

how big? about 2-3 exposure values, that's how big it is, especially at longer focal lengths. it lets you shoot handheld in situations where it would just blur otherwise.

The one at the picture is not a VR-Lens. Follow this Link: http://www.nikonusa.com/Nikon-Products/Product/Camera-Lenses/2166/AF-S-DX-VR-Zoom-NIKKOR-55-200mm-f%252F4-5.6G-IF-ED.html

I do not see the "VR" switch on it, so I would say it is non-VR. I don't have any non-VR lens, so can not tell you the difference, but I would say, it is helpful to have in certain situations.

There are quite a few, but the most affordable are the:
AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G
AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G
AF-S NIKKOR 85mm f/1.8G
All are fixed focal length primes.

Yes, this lens will work just fine on the D7000, as will the other non-S series Autofocus lenses.

Enjoy your D7000, I own one too and it's simply amazing.
