70-300 is a bit faster, 55-300 is more compact. :)

Best telephoto for D3100

I have a D3100 and would like to add a telephoto lens. I'm debating between the 55-300 and the 70-300. I'm going on a safari later this year so I will be using it for wildlife pics and to take pics of my daughter playing soccer. Which lens would be best?
