Looking for Answers about Nikon Inc. AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR?

Do you know anyone else with a Nikon DSLR?
Or do you deal with a local camera shop?
Try the lens on a different camera. If it doesn't work take it back or send it to Nikon.

It's already in the M/A mode, but It's not working. I don't know why.
Do you think is there any problem in this lens?

Just install the lens, make sure switch on lens is set to m/a.

can you please tell me how to set up that with D7000

Sorry, you are misinterpreting what you read. You will always have a crop factor dx to dx or dx to fx or fx to dx.

Sorry for the insistance, but as I told, I am learning a litte bit every day and decision that I will take must be based on this learning.
I checked on Nikon simulator - http://static.nikonusa.com/Lens-Simulator/simulator.htm - and apparently DX lens on DX body is different from FX lens on DX body. I mean, there is no 1,5 factor on DX lens on DX body what means that 18-300mm will be 18-300mm forever, on D7000 body while 28-300mm will be 42-450mm on D7000 body.
Am I correct?
And, if I am correct, the only difference between this two lens - 18-300mm and 28-300mm is this aspect and 100 dollars?
Is there something else that I should considere in my decision?
The quality of images, sharppenes, etc?

Sorry yes they both will be 450mm on the long end. The 18 mm x 1.5 will be 27 on the short end and the 28 mm x1.5 will be 42 mm on the short end.

In researching the Nikon website I located the information pasted below. The answer is clearly "yes" the DX lense will function on an FX camera. If I interpret the information below correctly, using a DX lens on an FX camera will result in a cropping effect on the subject because the FX camera will default to its built-in DX crop mode. Net effect is you will not obtain the wide view perhaps desired e.g. a 24mm lens will provide an approximate 36mm view (example cited by NIKON).

PER NIKON:
In digital cameras, the camera's format refers to the size of its image sensor. Nikon makes a DX-format sensor and an FX-format sensor. The DX-format is the smaller sensor at 24x16mm; the larger FX-format sensor measures 36x24mm which is approximately the same size as 35mm film.

Different NIKKOR lenses are designed to accommodate the different camera sensor sizes. In the case of DX cameras with their smaller sensors, corresponding DX lenses have been designed. The DX designation can be found in the lens name, i.e. AF-S DX Zoom-NIKKOR 12-24mm f/4G IF-ED. These lenses are smaller and lighter in weight and address the market's need for affordable, high-performance lenses with a variety of focal lengths and zoom options.

The DX sensor makes possible the production of lighter, smaller cameras, but because it covers a smaller portion of the image projected by the lens, a 1.5x crop factor (so called because the smaller sensor crops the image compared to an image from a 35mm film frame) is introduced. This means, for example, a 24mm lens on a DX sensor camera will provide an approximate 36mm view.

The FX sensor, with more "light gathering" area, offers higher sensitivity and, generally, lower noise. There is, of course, no crop factor present with the FX sensor.

DX cameras have the added benefit of being able to use both DX and non-DX NIKKOR lenses-those lenses without the DX designation in their names, i.e. AF-S NIKKOR 14-24mm f/2.8G ED. And here's why.

Yes. It will work like any DX lens. You get 15MP.

Zoom Creep is the effect gravity can have on your zoom lens under certain circumstances. The lens tends to slowly zoom in or out under its own weight if pointed straight up, straight down, or at a sharp angle and nothing is touching the zoom ring. Most of the creep occurs between 30mm and 130mm in the zoom range. This is normal and the zoom action can’t be tightened to eliminate creep.

I got it yesterday. It's lable VR on the lens, box, and booklet. I don't see it lable VRII on the product. yes it confuses to me too about VR or VRII. It says VRII in the description on the Nikon website.

It was already released last June 14, 2012 as quoted: "Nikon Corporation is pleased to announce the release of the AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR, the world's first interchangeable zoom lens for D-SLR cameras to offer the world's highest zoom ratio* of 16.7x, compatible with the DX format."
