I have an older D-60 SLR, but will be upgrading to an FX in the next year or so. Will this lens work for the time being with my D-60? Thanks

Yes it will work fine with your D60 and your eventual full frame body.

Question

When I use this lens, the auto distortion control function on my D600 does not work. Why not?

My other Nikkor lenses do not have this problem.

Get Adobe Lens Profile Creator software, you have to create the profile yourself with the lens you are using.

The nodal point is not something that people tell you. You have to setup the lens with the camera and use the right equipment to find the nodal point.
Search this youtube video call "Panoramic photography - how to find the Nodal Point (no parallax point) of your lens.
