Nikon made its line of Circular Polarizing Filter II much thinner and lighter than conventional models, allowing many lenses to be used without causing vignetting, and applied multiple layer coatings on both sides to reduce ghost images and flare.

The lens hood would depend on which lens is being used. Lens hood compatibility varies with each lens. Please see the following link with all the Nikon 1 accessories.: http://www.nikonusa.com/en/Nikon-Pr...

Will this work with the 70 to 300 AF-S VR lens on a D5200?

I am retired and a first timer with this camera and will be on a cruise to Australia and other locations. My Bride and I wish to record memories and adventures. We are not entirely satisfied with "pocket" cameras for landscape and wildlife photos.
