The DK-20C is NOT for viewfinder magnification; it is a correctional eyepiece for people who wear glasses. It does not serve the same purpose as the DK-21M; entierely different products, and if you do not need glasses but put it on your camera, you will not be able to focus. However, upon trusting referrals from other Nikon users who said all dx cameras use the same eyepieces (they are interchangeable), I went ahead and ordered a DK-21M for my D5100 last week, and got it today; it fits and works perfectly with the D5100, and is a very welcome upgrade to it's viewfinder; well worth the few dollars I paid for it!!! I will never take it off my camera; it is now a part of my D5100.
But the DK-20c is for eyeglass correction; my camera has a diopiter, and I don't wear glasses, anyway. I simply want a magnifier because of the D5100's tiny viewfinder. I don't think you answered correctly; the DK-20c and the DK-21M are not for the same purpose.
I've heard a wide range of comments from glasses wearers. Some say it cuts off the outer area of the viewfinder. One person said it was great with glasses. Another said that he didn't have to wear his glasses when using the accessory.
Does anyone have any experience with the magnifying eye pieced and glasses?

DK-21M gives excellent enlargement of the Nikon D5100 viewfinder. It fits the eyepiece perfectly mechanically without interfering with anything. All of the viewfinder including the finder screen and the LED display is visible at the same time. You must however hold the eyepiece close to your eye. With glasses you will not be able to see the complete viewfinder.

Question
Will this work in the D5100? It doesn't say in the "compatible with" section.
I think It will, because it also works with the d3100 and the d7000, but can anyone confirm this? Thanks!
