Whether the D60 is right for you depends on the kinds of images you are hoping to capture. When it comes to speed the D60 can shoot approximately 3 frames per second in continuous mode at full resolution and its fastest shutter speed is 1/4000. However, if you are shooting indoor skateboarding you may want to consider a newer model with improved low-light performance.
The D60 does not have a built in focus motor so you will need an AF-S lens in order to autofocus and Nikon's fisheye lenses do not have AF-S. Check out this site for D60 lens compatibility: http://support.nikonusa.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/16436
