Questions & Answers for Nikon Inc. EP-5B Power Supply Connector
Can I attach the EP-5B to a DC power source (battery)? What connector do I need?
I can't fit a handgrip battery in my rig. I'd like to power the camera off an external battery.

I have an EH-5b ac adapter sitting right in front of me, it's the part that actually supplies power to the EP-5B. According the pinout information on the ac adapter, two of the pins aren't connected and the other two pins supply nine volts at up to 4500 mA.
Based on that, it looks to me like you could hook any 9 V power supply, whether a battery or whatever to the EP-5B. It'd probably take a little bit of soldering to do it nicely, but I don't see any huge issues.
I understand your question. Nikon doesn't make what you want. A suggestion is to take the EP-5B adapter and the EH-5 to an electronics repair shop. He can use the male connector on the a/ c adapter to make a plug for the battery you want to use. His is assuming he battery you want to use. (you didn't mention that) is the correct voltage. If not I don't know if there is such a thing as a dc to dc voltage converter. I think the right technician can help you.
