Questions & Answers for Nikon Inc. WR-A10 Wireless Remote Adapter

Question

Do I really need this if I am going to buy the WR-T10 Wireless Remote Controller (transmitter) and the WR-T10 Wireless Remote Controller (transceiver)

I was wondering if I need this even though I am going to buy the transmitter and transceiver. One of the main reasons I am asking is because if I do indeed need this "adapter" to work with the other two products. I simply can't because it says my camera isn't compatible.

Thank you!

The WR-T10 transmitter communicates with the WR-R10 receiver. The WR-R10 plugs directly into cameras that have an accessory port. If your camera has a 10-pin connector instead of an accessory port then you will need the WR-A10 adapter. The WR-R10 fits into the WR-A10 which then plugs into the 10-pin port. If you have an older model that camera doesn't have an accessory port or a 10-pin connector, like the D40 or the D3000, then the WR-10 system of remotes is not compatible with your camera.

So instead of a $59.95 accessory like the WU-1A, I have to buy a $1,000 accessory? Doesn't seem right to have to buy a $1,000 device to fit a $3,000 camera when I can buy a $500 camera that already has WiFi and GPS built in. I guess I will start checking out third party solutions. To Bad.

No, neither wireless mobile adapter is compatible with the d800. The only available wireless is the WT-4 / camera control pro.

Question

Is the WR-A10 really compatible with only the four cameras listed under the "Compatible WIth" tab? I have a D3s and a D200, so I can't use the WR-10?

The WR-R10/WR-T10/WR-A10 Wireless Remote Adapter Set is compatible with both the D3s and the D200. All 3 pieces of the set will be required for these cameras since the WR-A10 adapter allows the WR-R10 transceiver to be connected the 10-pin connector. Please note that the D200 will temporarily display GPS in the LCD if the exposure meters are activated after the unit is attached.

Question

Will the WR-A10 Wireless Remote Adapter work with a Nikon N-90s film camera?

The N90s has a 10 pin connector so I'm curious if it will work. I'm thinking about purchasing the set as I have a D300.

Question

Wirelessly transfer from images from gear to Ipad/MacBook . . .

I have N90s, D70, D200 and a D300. The D200 came with upgrade for wireless shutter release (after I bought trigger piece) - I saw on a 3rd party website that a similar product (wr 10a ?) allowed for transfer to an iPhone or Ipad, does this set up work for the D300 similarly?

I shoot all kinds of competitions and would gain a marketing advantage if I could go straight to a device with a large monitor for those quick impulse buyers.
