Nikon has now released the AS-N1000 Multi Accessory Port Adapter, which fits the smaller hot shoe on the V1 and results in a standard hot shoe mount. Current price is $26 US.

Looks like it is fitted with a non-standard hotshoe (something called a "multi-port"). And I don't see anything in the specs about an additional port. Looks like we're out of luck...unless Nikon is good enough to build an adapter allowing for standard hotshoe adaptability...hint...hint... (but at that point why not carry a DSLR...bigger sensor, F-mount lenses, better control...etc.)

The new NIKON 1 V1 is only compatible with the SB-N5. Since we don't manufature flash packs or pocket wizard you will need to get in contact with the manufacture of the third equipment for compatibility information with our products.

You can't use DSLR lenses on the Nikon V1 or J1.. it's a different mount.
There might be an adapter at some point, but I would be surprised.

You will need the The FT1 Mount Adapter that allows you to use certain legacy F Mount NIKKOR lenses (those designed for use with Nikon D-SLR/SLR cameras) on the Nikon 1 V1. The Mount Adapter is attached to the Nikon 1 V1 and the F Mount NIKKOR lens then attached to the adapter. The FT1 will add an angle of view of 2.7 times that of the F Mount NIKKOR lens' focal length.

Question

Lens Compatibility

I saw this question made twice in this section, and I found not a clear answer, one reply list only Nikkor 1 compatibility, the other is not so clear because it mentions Dslr and SLR lens compatibility.
I will make a clear question in order to get a clear answer. First QUESTION: If I use the nikon adapter for NIKKOR lenses, which one could be used? To make things clear I will write all the possibilities Pre Ai - Ai - Ais - AF - AFD - AFS - G. I didnt include IX and F3AF. SECOND QUESTION, Which capabilities would I get with each lens class, I mean ¿will I keep AF and metering?, If it is so please put it clear for each group. Clear answers help buying decisions, not so clear answers makes some people buy other brands. Thanks

There is a third party adapter available now, if you do not want to wait for the FT1 adapter from Nikon. However, there are no electronic contacts on the third party adapter, so no automatic functions are possible. You can use very old lenses with the third party adapter, but you will need to manually set the shutter speed, and use test exposures, or an external light meter to get usable images.

The microphone listed in the system tab for the V1 is the Nikon ME-1. This base on the microphone will not fit in the accessory shoe.

It interferes with the viewfinder. Am I just supposed to hold the microphone or is there a different base available that will allow it to work. The good news is the electrical connection works.
