The 1 series of lenses would not work on any F mount body because the image circle of the 1 series lenses is too small for the larger sensors used in F mount bodies.

The FT1 Mount adapter is only for the Nikon 1 cameras. Unfortunately we cannot speculate about future products until official information is announced on our web site: www.nikonusa.com.

Question
I just purchased this lens, when used on J1 with flash I get a very visible shadow of the lens barrel on the image in some images. Please advise

Did a little research, the flash on the J1 will cast a shadow when shooting on a downward angle . It is not high enough to clear the lens end.

The 1 NIKKOR VR 10-100mm f/4.5-5.6 PD-ZOOM will power zoom on the Nikon1 V2 if the lens firmware is version 1.0.1. To check your lens firmware version attach the lens to the camera and then go to the camera's menu. Go to the wrench icon, scroll down to Firmware Version, and click "OK".
If your "L" firmware is 1.0.1 then please contact Nikon Technical Support for further assistance : http://support.nikonusa.com. If the "L" firmware version is not 1.0.1 then your lens firmware needs to be updated. Unfortunately you cannot update your lens firmware using the V2 camera. If you also have a Nikon1 J1, J2 or V1 then you can update your lens firmware using one of those cameras. The firmware download and instructions can be found here: http://support.nikonusa.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/17555
If you only have the V2 available then you will need to have the firmware updated by Nikon Service or by a Nikon Authorized Repair Station. Please see the following page for more information:

Question
Is clicking/rattling sound normal on the 10-100mm?
I received a new 10-100mm lens together with a new V1 body. As I unpacked the lens, I noticed clicking/rattling noise from inside the lens. The noise sounded like loose parts.
Once mounted on the V1 body, the noise was still there albeit less severe. The V1 camera did recognize the lens so that is good. I didn't proceed to shoot any pics or video as I was not sure whether the lens was faulty and didn't want to risk further damages.
Anyone else having this issue? Any advice greatly appreciated.

The 1Nikkor 10-100mm Power Zoom Lens should not make a rattling noise with slight or normal movement but will with vigorous movment (which is not recommended). If you are hearing the noise with normal movement and you have not yet received an answer to your posting to Nikon Support please contact Nikon Technical Support by phone.
