FT-1 Mount Adapter

The FT-1 Mount Adapter allows you to use certain legacy F-Mount NIKKOR lenses (those designed for use with Nikon D-SLR/SLR cameras) on the Nikon 1 advanced cameras with interchangeable lenses. The Mount Adapter is attached to the Nikon 1 camera and the F-Mount NIKKOR lens then attached to the adapter. The FT-1 will add an angle of view of 2.7 times that of the F-Mount NIKKOR lens' focal length.

Question

I notice that the FT1 is now missing from the accessories displayed on the "system" tab of the V1 camera. Expected availability?

While I would rarely use the camera with the adapter, if this option is not available, this would impact my purchasing decision. The fact that I haven't found the part available for pre-order on any website and the fact that it has now disappeard from the list of accessories on the V1 webpage concerns me.

I think Nikon is answering this question incorrectly. They should be asking what camera the FT-1 is attached to and what shutter is being used. I can get slower shutter speeds with my V2 but I have to select the mechanical shutter. I believe this to be the same case with all the Nikon 1 "V" cameras.

Question

What lenses, other than those in the documentation, fit?

I have tried the following manual Nikkor lenses and they work fine in aperture priority mode:

NIKKOR Ai 35 mm 1:1.4
Zoom-NIKKOR Ai-S 35-105 mm 1:3.5~4.5
NIKKOR 50 mm 1:1.4 Ai 50 mm 1:1.4
Micro-NIKKOR Ai-S 55 mm 1:2.8
NIKKOR Ai-S 58 mm 1:1.2 Noct
NIKKOR Ai-S 85 mm 1:1.4
NIKKOR Ai-S 105 mm 1:1.8
NIKKOR Ai-S 135 mm 1:2.8

The one lens I tried that did NOT work (could not be mounted):
NIKKOR K 24 mm 1:2.8

So far, no surprises, as I didn't expect the 24 mm lens to work.

No, focus tracking when shooting movies will not be available when attaching this lens to a Nikon1 camera via the FT-1 adapter. Autofocusing is possible when AF-S lenses are used, however, focus mode must be set to AF-S (Single AF) and AF-area mode is fixed at Single-point with only the center focus point used.

When I attach my SF-S 18-135mm lens to this lens mount on my new V1 the screen reads "Check lens. Pictures can only be taken when lens is attached". Am I doing something wrong?
