This can't be used with the V1 because the form factor is a little different than the J1 / J2 cameras, and these underwater housings are designed to fit their respective cameras pretty tightly.

Yes, from the manual:
The waterproof case is equipped with 2 fi ber-optic cable
sockets, permitting underwater fl ash units to be connected
and controlled by the camera’s built-in fl ash. When using an
underwater fl ash unit, remove either of the fi ber-optic cable
socket caps (q; note that although there is no risk of leaks
when the caps are removed, the caps for unused sockets
should be left in place), connect the cable (w), and be sure
to raise the camera’s built-in fl ash after placing the camera
in the case. The fl ash will fi re with every shot. Before using
the fl ash underwater, take a test shot and confi rm that the
fl ash is functioning normally. For more information, see the
documentation provided with the fl ash unit.

Question

I use a p7000 for underwater micro photography. How about Nikon letting me try one of these before I buy?

With logistics today, the smaller the better for me when I travel to dive locations. I used to take my D70 with a large case, strobes, etc., a lot of work and worry. With this set up, I can put it my backpack as my carry -on along with my other personal items. Sure would like to try this out.

Question

Is there any way to control aperture in M mode?

I use it mostly for filming, so I want to keep shutter speed locked and change the aperture. Lower dial seems to be the only (and key one) not accesible in the housing. Any tips?

Question

Will it work with the AW1?

The WP-N1 is listed as an accessory for the AW1 but the description only says that it fits the J1 and J2. Is the AW1 form factor similar enough to the J1 and J2? Having an inherently waterproof camera inside an even more waterproof housing creates a much higher likelihood of camera survival in the event of a housing flood, so the combination of AW1 inside this housing would be outstanding.
