Question

Will this work with the Nikon ED AF-I 300mm F/2.8 D (IF) Lens?

I know the original lens hood was the HK-19, which is unfortunately hard to find, and impossible to find brand new.

Unfortunately for this lens we don't have parts available anymore, since it's been discontinued years ago. You may want to check with dealers if they have a used HK-19 available (the only one compatible).

Question

Lens hood service or parts

I have the Nikon 300 F2.8 VR2 lens. The screw for the HK30 to tighten and release the hood from the lens has come off of the hood. Why can I not receive a new replacement part or send the hood to Nikon for service and repair. I have been told I need to replace the entire hood at a cost of $342.00, for a simple and easy repair that would cost less than $ 10.00 in parts
