Question

How do you get the Nikon 600mm lens to actually fit in the CL-L2 soft case?

I have a lot of trouble fitting the lens in the case. I had to take off the hoods and the lens handle. Also, do you leave the standard padding that comes with the case or take it out, and if so does the case really give the lens proper protection?

The bag fits if you remove both of upper and lower inner padding. The lens hoods fit in reverse positions. You can still use the front padding column for added protection,

Mine barely fits also. I use it for storage on the shelf and a Lowepro 600 for transport. I can attach the body in the Lowepro.
