Questions & Answers for Nikon Inc. DK-19 Rubber Eyecup
Can you use the eyecup when wearing glasses?
On the specs on Nikon's website it says it is particully useful for people wearing glasses, but from reviews online I gather it isn't. Anybody have experience with this?

I wear eyeglasses and may have compounded the problem by attaching this DK-19 eyecup to a DK-17M magnifying eyepiece on my Df. I found that by following the instructions provided by Nikon with both products as well as watching a few YouTube videos, my eyeglasses (and my right eye) are so far back from the screen that I can't see the edges or corners of the frame, which makes it difficult to properly "frame" my photos... unless I squash my glasses up tight to the eyecup. I'm not sure why Nikon would recommend this eyecup for eyeglass wearers, especially those of us who also want to enlarge the viewing screen with the DK-17M magnifier. Maybe there is a better option for installing the eyecup with the DK-17M magnifier for people who wear glasses?!?
Is it possible to mount this eye cup after I install DK-17m magnifier on d800?
I am buying the Nikon D800 and thinking of mounting the DK-17m 1.2x magnifying eyepiece on it. I would like to use this on top of that.

I don't have direct experience with this item, but I have changed out the DK-17 on my D700, and it simply screws in and out of the camera. If you replace it with a magnifier, the only difference will be in the glass, and the overall design is identical. This eyecup is just a piece of rubber that stretches to fit around the eyepiece. It fits all of the FX cameras with round viewfinders.
First remove the existing rubber eyecup from the Df by grasping it lightly between your thumb and finger and rotating it counter-clockwise. Then follow the instructions shown on the following page: https://support.nikonusa.com/app/an... .
Please disregard the parts of these instructions that refer to an eyepiece shutter/lock since the Df does not have these features.
