Questions & Answers for Nikon Inc. SC-30 TTL Cord

Question

Can this be used with i-TTl cameras as well?

I have read the R1C1 manual and am aware the SC-30 TTL cords are to connect SB-R200 to SU-800 for camera bodies that are not compatible with the CLS system. Can the SC-30 cord also be used with CLS compatible camera bodies (such as D300, D800, D810, etc.) to bypass or eliminate reliance on the IR sensor? To clarify, would it enable communication between the camera, SU-800, and SB-R200 in very bright ambient light conditions or in situations where the SB-R200's IR sensor is blocked or turned away from the SU-800? And secondarily, if SC-30 cords are employed for 2 SB-R200 units, can additional SB-R200 units be utilized under control with IR?
