Question

HB - 39 lens hood keeps falling off - what am I doing Wrong?

bought the HB-39 for 18-300mm f/3.5-6.3G ED VR (recommended as compatible).When I put it on my lens I line it up and 1/4 turn into position but it does not seem to click into place and therefore keeps turn back and falling off. What am I doing wrong?

The HB-39 lens hood is compatible with the 18-300mm f/3.5-6.3G ED VR. When attaching or removing the hood, hold it near the lock symbol on its base with minimal force. If you are having trouble attaching the lens hood please contact Nikon Support: https://support.nikonusa.com/app/an...

Is it reversible? Can the lens cap be put on while in both front or reversed mode for storage?

Yes, the lens hood can be and it is recommended that the lens hood be stored in the reverse position.
