I am gus who asked the question, and it was the user's manual instruction with which I had some difficulty to understand the function. In the meanwhile, I have figured it out, there are two ways to get the focus fine tuned: as indicated, in the P,S,A,M.U, sports and special effects scene mode; press the multi selector cursor down and select Manual Focus.
Use the multi selector to adjust the focus until you are satisfied.
Press the OK button. The focus adjustment you have just made is now locked in.
Now press the shutter release button to take your picture.
The second method uses "AutoFocus" to make the fine adjustment as follows;
As before press the multiselector down and select Manual Focus
Now, press the multiselector to the right
This will get you a screen that you have to confirm if you want the camera to use Auto Focus to do the fine focus adjustment. Select Yes and press the OK button and hold it in until the camera made the focus adjustment, you'll see the camera hunting for a focus spot in the center of the focus area.
Now you can push the shutter release button and take your photo.
And there you have it.

The Multi Selector can be pushed Up,Down Left, Right and can also be rotated using your thumb.
Manual focus can only be selected in P, S, A, M, U, Sports, or special scene modes. MF cannot be selected in Auto. (Green camera Icon on the camera mode dial)

(1)To use manual focus while in one of shooting modes stated above, press the multi selector down, then scroll down and highlight MF (manual focus), and press OK.

(3) Rotate the the multi selector using your thumb to adjust focus.

Refer to the table of contents, then Page 2 of the 'Reference Section' of your user manual in the link below. The reference section of the manual is close to the Index.

Question

What is the maximum speed at which the Nikon P330 may write to the SD card?

What is the maximum speed at which the Nikon P330 may write to the SD card? In other words, beyond what SD card speed does any additional SD card speed capability not get used by the P330? Are some available SD card speeds (e.g. 200x, 400x, 600x, 30MB/s, 45MB/s, 95MB/s, etc.) beyond the P330's capacity to fully utilize? Is there an "optimum speed" SD card that P330 owners should use in the P330? Thanks.

I don't know whether Nikon tests for this. In my opinion since the P330 can shoot 10 frames per second it would benefit from a SD card rated at UHS-1 (95mbps). If you intend on shooting raw ir would definitely benefit from that speed. I would not use anything less than a Class 10.

Question

GPS feature does what?

Some cameras are described as having built-in GPS. All you get is a little blue line on a background that shows your track that day.

I want a camera that prints the LAT/LONG on the individual photo, or that creates a digital tag to each photo that viewers can use to link to mapquest and other online maps, to show the general location of the location where the photo was taken.

Coolpix P330 is made at a Nikon facility in China.
Nikon operates factories all across the globe and each operates to the same high standard. While individual cameras are marked with their country of manufacture we can't make a blanket statement about which camera is produced where.

You will need to purchase an HDMI cable or use the EG-CP16 Audio/Video Cable that was included with the P330, and you need to make sure that you have the right input channel selected on the TV. If it is not working, try plugging a different electronic device into the same TV input to see if that work.

Question

Battery indicator

I was wondering if it is normal for the battery indicator to show that the battery is full right up until the moment it is exhausted. I heard that unlike other rechargeables, Lithium batteries provide nominal voltage until they are almost exhausted, and then it abruptly drops.

The camera tends to show full charge, and then suddenly says "Battery exhausted".
