Is the D5200 that much more advanced than the D60 and is the 55-200 zoom lens from the D60 compatible with the D5200?

I currently have the Nikon D60 camera. Is the D5200 that much more advanced than what I have and is the 55-200 zoom lens from the D60 compatible with the D5200?

The 5200 is DX format so as long as the len's are DX they will work.

The D5200 is a lot newer then the D60 so yes it is going to be better spec wise. And yes the 55-200 will work with the D5200.

Which lens would be best for shooting my sons baseball and football pictures?

I'm going to purchase the D5200 and would like to know if there is a good, inexpensive lens for my sons sports shot . Something that can zoom in and still stay focused and have crisp picture. Also my high school daughters soccer!

The 70-200 F/2.8 is the best for day and night, indoor or outdoor, snow, winter, sunny, rainy, and its sharp like a whistle. Or Maybe go for the go for the new 70-200 F/4. Just don't get a too cheap lens. When is comes to lenses, what you pay for is what you get. Expensive lenses have better quality.

A lot of people do reviews about the lenes on youtube. I suggest you watch some of the videos and decide.
