Most cameras coming out ( DSLRs and digital compact cameras) have 12+, I find it strange this one only has 10.

Unfortunately it doesn't say what camera you are referring to. But the 3 that come to mind are the J1, V1 and P7100. With regards to the J1 and V1, the sensor size has been a big bone of contention in the Nikon community. With most people wanting a APS-C size sensor, the same as Sony. Nikon decided to go down a different route, making the sensor smaller so that, it can shoot faster. In reality most people don't need a huge amount of megapixals. Just look at the D3s, it has less megapixels than the most compacts but has a much better image quality. The downside of the J1/V1 when compared with the Sony's and 4/3 system is that because the sensor is smaller, the low light ablity is not considered quite as good. Which is one of the other main reasons the J1/V1 have less MP, each pixel can then be bigger allowing more light. Nikon have done a very good job with the ISO ability of the camera and for most people, this won't be a issue. With the P7000/P7100 Nikon have given it less MP to allow for low light ability.

I can't see what camera, you are asking about but from my experience you do not get a media card with a camera. Though you can buy a bundle, which might have one at a shop but that would be the shop giving you one.

I caught the end of a demonstration @ CES this year and a young lady was demonstrating a Nikon 1 camera and doing panoramas of the crowd. Do all Nikon 1 cameras do this or is it one specific model?
